Coinbase might finally be coming around. Let’s revisit the sequence of events:
- Coinbase Pro List XRP
- Coinbase List XRP
- Coinbase Wallet now supports XRP
So what is the Coinbase wallet and why is this kinda a big deal. The Coinbase wallet is a user-custodied digital currency wallet and DApp browser. This means that with Wallet, the private keys (that represent ownership of the cryptocurrency) are stored directly on your device and not with a centralized exchange like Coinbase Consumer. You do not need a Coinbase Consumer account to use Wallet and you can download Wallet from anywhere in the world.
So Coinbase adds support for XRP on their wallet just 3 days after Binance Trust Wallet Adds Support for XRP. Listen if I was Coinbase I would do everything that Binance was doing. Binance can’t do any wrong at this moment. CZ sure knows how to run a business and he gives the community what they want and when they want it. Coinbase, on the other hand, should have listed XRP 2 years ago and added support for XRP on there wallet around the same time.
Coinbase Wallet is the #1 mobile crypto wallet and Web 3 DApp browser. Wallet makes it easy for you to securely store, send and receive Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ether (ETH), Ether Classic (ETC), Litecoin (LTC), XRP, and Ethereum-based ERC20 tokens.
Time will tell if Coinbase is matching Binance move for move, but it sure does look like it.
