Ripple’s blockchain based global settlements network launched its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) in June of last year.
Ripple is collaborating with leading universities around the world to support and accelerate academic research, technical development and innovation in blockchain, cryptocurrency and digital payments.
Ripple’s university partnerships team is working with UBRI’s 29 academic partners to help them identify research, technical projects and other academic activities they will pursue as part of the UBRI program.

Kyoto is Japan’s second oldest Japanese university, one of Asia’s highest-ranked universities and one of Japan’s National Seven Universities. One of Asia’s leading research-oriented institutions, Kyoto University is famed for producing world-class researchers, including 19 Nobel Prize laureates, 2 Fields medalists and one Gauss Prize winner. It has the most Nobel laureates of all universities in Asia.
