XRP Credit Card Launches with Gemini and Mastercard

-

The XRP credit card has officially made its debut, thanks to a strategic collaboration between Gemini, Ripple, Mastercard, and WebBank. Announced on August 25, 2025, this new offering revamps Gemini’s existing credit card into a limited-edition metal design tailored specifically for the XRP community.

What the XRP Credit Card Offers

Built with everyday utility in mind, the XRP credit card provides instant crypto rewards in XRP for standard purchases. Cardholders earn:

  • 4% back on fuel, EV charging, rideshare, and public transit (up to a cap, then 1%)
  • 3% back on dining
  • 2% back on groceries
  • 1% back on all other eligible spending

In addition to the base rates, Gemini introduces periodic special promotions offering up to 10% back at selected merchants. Customers who apply and are approved by June 30, 2025, can receive a $200 XRP bonus by spending $3,000 within 90 days of activation.

All rewards earned are automatically deposited into the user’s Gemini Exchange account, giving users flexibility to hold, trade, or convert without delay.

Card Design and User Benefits

This exclusive cryptocurrency card comes in three elegant finishes: black, silver, and rose gold. Crafted mainly from recycled metal, it highlights sustainability while delivering a premium user experience.

The card leverages Mastercard’s global network, ensuring secure and seamless transactions worldwide. True to Gemini’s security-centric principles, sensitive card details are not printed on the physical card and can only be retrieved securely within the Gemini mobile app.

Notably, there are no annual fees, no foreign transaction charges, and no exchange fees when converting rewards into XRP, making it both practical and cost-efficient for U.S. users.

Expanding Partnership Between Gemini and Ripple

Beyond the card launch, Gemini and Ripple have also broadened their collaboration. Gemini has added support for Ripple’s stablecoin RLUSD on its U.S. spot trading platform. This integration facilitates instant XRP conversions and simplifies the use of stable value assets alongside crypto.

Ripple highlighted that RLUSD is now available and acts as a liquidity bridge in this ecosystem, aiding seamless conversion and trading while eliminating unnecessary fees.

The launch is underpinned by a joint $75 million investment from both companies. There are also whispers about Ripple possibly offering additional credit support to Gemini ahead of its expected IPO.

Marketing Buzz and Rollout

To stir interest before the official release, Gemini teased the card through a billboard in New York City boldly instructing crypto fans to “prepare your bags.” The bold message caught fire online, quickly spreading within the community.

The campaign built momentum following a previous teaser that hinted at an upcoming XRP initiative. Speculation soared as users awaited details, which culminated in the highly anticipated launch.
